January sunlight is best in late afternoon. My blue jars, including the Cobalt Baby, glow in the kitchen window.

Yeah! I also have a milk of magnesia jar. And an Evening in Paris perfume bottle. They're pretty in sunlight.

Nice. I especially like the cows. And the dining room.

Thanks, Laura.

(Late afternoon sunlight is pretty in the house, but hard to drive through when the sun is almost setting--I had to hold my hand up to block the sun as I was driving today.)

You're absolutely right about the late afternoon light. It has been catching my eye lately, as it illuminates one thing, then another.

Lovely. :)

(*where* did you find a cobalt baby food jar???)

Ah, at an antique shop! I loved his creepy little face immediately. It amuses me that he has a label, "half pint," on his front!

My goodness, Jackie. I don't even have to look at the picture to see him!

You have such a lovely gift for expressive economy of words.

That blue is almost surreal.

That's what I think! I'll stand in my kitchen and be transfixed by its intensity. I also have a Milk of Magnesia bottle and other blue bottles--all together, they make a very big blue statement.

It's transfixing to me--I just stand and stare. (I have a couple of other jars, too--one a big old Milk of Magnesia bottle--and the light is also coming through them.)

When I was a child, I bought Evening in Paris perfume every Mother's Day at Woolworths for my mother--and that's a side view in the icon of a bottle of it. (There's still a little liquid inside. Most nostalgic to me. I wish they still made it!)

When did they stop making it?
