Final post

This is Kate writing one last time for Jackie, my mother. She passed away peacefully yesterday morning, January 3, at home. I held her hand.

Mom donated to Doctors Without Borders when she could, if anyone wants to donate in her name.

Oh Kate, my deepest sympathies to your whole family. Donna (pondhopper) and I were just speaking of your mother this last week, about how much joy she brought into our lives with both her kindness and her wonderful stories and photos. She is going to be sorely missed by all of her very many LJ friends.

It's hard, Kate. I lost my mother just over a year ago. I hope all the arrangements go as easily as possible for you, and that you're able to remember your mom happily.

i am so sorry to hear this, but glad you held her hand, at home. i have enjoyed jackie's lively tales and images for several years and will miss her. peace to you and your family.

I'm so sorry to read this, Kate. You have my heartfelt sympathies and my prayers. Your mother was a lovely presence here, gracious and so good. I'm glad to have known her, if only from afar.
