Does anyone reading this, or anyone they know of and would kindly be willing to point over here, (1) live in the San Francisco East Bay, anywhere in Alameda County except on Alameda, (2) have a spare room of any size or even a walk-in closet they can spare, (3) doesn't have cats ('cause I adore 'em but am severely allergic), (4) doesn't smoke ( Read more... )

I've passed your link via direct email to LJ user Gramina, who lives somewhere in the Bay Area. I think she has cats, but she might also have leads to places that don't.

I'm Gramina's partner, and I'll boost the signal, too.

Are you wanting it immediately, beginning of may, beginning of june, some other time?

Sadly, many of the people I know in the area have cats and/or a lack of extra space. Though I do have another friend who's also looking at needing new housing soon, but she's down to having no money coming in until SSI starts. (Though it also looks like she's not going to have to jump through the appeal hoops, just extra paperwork hoops... fingers crossed.)

Still, I can poke around.

Anytime between right away and the beginning of August would improve my situation immensely. Much past that may force me to leave California unless my "Request for Reconsideration" with SSI gets a "Yes" so I needn't request a hearing.

Even a living-room sofa in a quiet clean home where long-term guests aren't prohibited would be an improvement, the sooner the better. However I would love a small private sleeping space (and existing space) if I could get one.

I would be grateful for any poking around you can manage.

Thank you very very much.

Jackie

I'm from Minnesota! If you don't mind REALLY cold winters, lots of ice and snow, you are always welcome as long as I have a roof over my head. God Bless, and I hope you have an excellent attorney for your appeal!
Love, Cat.
