Well as some of you may know my Mum in Canada has not been at all well of late, having had 3 of her 4 parathyroids removed in December and developing a great deal of difficulty swallowing as a result. All I can offer in the way of "avoiding blubbing and losing it" is to offer up how I coped recently. Be there for the living relatives you are attending with to be their support - concentrate on them (the living), not your losses (the dead) - you can feel free to "lose it" due to the other reminders and memories later on in private.
