My mom cried when I told her I had to go after my visit today. I couldn't stay very long and I know that even if I had stayed longer, it wouldn't have changed anything. But it still killed me. This morning I refilled the bird feeder that hangs on a branch just beyond our kitchen deck. It didn't take long for the birds to find the food and I found it so wonderful and relaxing to just sit there on my dining room floor and listen to them singing to each other. Last Friday was Candace's birthday and she planned a huge get-together of friends and family to go to a Royals baseball game. Unfortunately, her grandfather died of a heart attack that morning and it put a bit of a damper on things.
