Update

It is ages since I've written here, to be honest I'm not even sure anyone reads it anymore, but I guess I hate to let go of things I've got used to and LJ is part of my SG1 fandom which is still very dear to me because in truth was the first one I really got involved with. Now people have scattered and found new interests but I still treasure this ( Read more... )

*Waves*

Glad you're all well. It's amazing how much a family dynamic changes when one child is away, isn't it? The surprising thing is that our two younger kids get on much better when the eldest isn't around (as has been the case a lot lately between university and work). I would never have expected that.

Hi, waves back, it's good to see you around :-)
Yes you are right the family dynamic realy changes. In my case minijc1 has a calming influence on minijc2 because she sort of translates the world for him in a way. We have a real problem with minijc2 picking on minijc3 and there was no doubt we were all much more relaxed while he was away.
Are you still writing?

I read!! I also feel the same exact way as you about Stargate (I never got so wrapped up into a show like I did with Stargate) and the family I've become a part of as a result. I'm very sad that so many are drifting away. I understand that it happens but I'm still sad about it ( ... )

OH, I'm so sorry I sploiled it for you, it just didn't occur to me to put it under a cut because the film has been out for a while, sorry :-(
If you can try see it on the big screen, it has quite spectacular scenes that deserve it. Having said that I can't wait to own it on dvd so that I can wear out certain scenes ;-)
Children, yes , they have this uncanning way of exasperating and elating you in equal measures, lol. It is scary to think my eldest will be finishing school next year and my baby is 7 already.

I read!! Even if I'm hopeless at updating my own LJ! :)

Although I don't take as active a part in the SG-1 fandom as I used to, I still really enjoy the show and have been watching the Sky repeats.

I've seen the new Star Trek movie and I can see where you're coming from on that. I think my new Jack/Sam is Gene/Alex from Ashes to Ashes, though.

Thank you :-)
I read your entry on the moon landing and wanted to comment but then my internet went bezerk. I felt the same. I was only 5 at the time but like you I was woken up in the middle of the night (like 2 am ) to watch it in a very grainny black and white tv.
It was an occasion that stayed with me and I have no doubt woken my interest in space and sci-fi.
