I'm not surprised that Stargate, Sam, Scully, Spock and Ships are up there. I don't think I've ever heard of scabbard fish though.

Peixe espada, as it is called in Portuguese is a long flat fish that resembles a sword. I've never seen it in the UK so it may be a warmer waters fish.

I ate 'swordfish' in a posh restaurant once. I wonder if that's a close relative of your scabbard fish?
