Q: What does a ruptured appendix feel like?
A: Well, that was an interesting sudden tiny explosion happening somewhere down in my abdomen. And there it is again. And OMFGwhatisthissomuchpainandmychestisonfireandI'mjustgoingtogocollapsenowand .. *whimper*

Good grief, those are some seriously fluffy foxes. =:D Do you get the opportunity to touch them, or any of the other residents, at all? (More than a few times, I've wished a wild bun would let me stroke them.. completely impossible, of course, though one did let me pass by them, only some 10' away, a couple weeks ago, just after sunset)

FSM, good to hear all's well again. I can scarcely imagine the shock (and surely fear) of something like that happening.

Touching of the animals is not allowed. Being touched by the animals is allowed -- this is most likely to happen in the red squirrel enclosure, where if you stand around looking like you might be concealing food on your person, the squirrels will come and climb all over you. (The red squirrels have a permanent walk-through enclosure so you don't need to wait for one of the special photography days to go visit them.)

My surgery is healing nicely, so far. They have me on a 'wound vac' (negative pressure therapy) which is a bit limiting for my ability to go out and do stuff. (And I'm supposed to be going to Yellowstone later this month, so hopefully it will be healed enough to take me off the wound vac by then.)
