How would Matt Cooke have been received had his career spanned through the 90's till the 04-05 NHL lockout or so. Would people look at him as being awesomesauce?

The most messed up thing happened when Playing Smackdown vs Raw 2009 for PS2, when I went to put the garbage can on the other guys head it fell off and yet he was still acting like it was on. also when I climbed the turnbuckle my guy went into the ring pole, yet when he jumped it was like he was still on the top of the turnbuckle.
