Bonus question almost completely unrelated to the post in the comments:

Which two five letter words beginning with a V take the prefix VI- to form acceptable seven letter words?

VI-VARIA is one. That's all I got. (I suspect I might know the -KAU thing but it's not coming up this late at night, and I should go to bed rather than thinking about it anymore!)

I'm glad you included the explanation of why you cared about those words. I think I've seen MAMAKAU, probably because its plural was added in CSW12 (although I only looked over the lower depths of the CSW12 new 8s briefly.) The other is new to me.

OK, I did know the KAU one. The other 7 is new to me, though I knew the 5. Just hard to come up with out of nowhere. Good quiz.

PIKAU is hard to think of as it's a very unlikely extension. I pair NIKAU & PIKAU in my head to remember those two Collins words.

I like VERRA-->VIVERRA and VARIA --> VIVARIA - they are a nice pair of extensions.

Are you planning on playing any CSW events soon? There aren't too many upcoming ones in your area right now.
