That's what should have happened. At least, the part where Merlin healed Isolde. I didn't really want Gaius to die, although I was kind of expecting it.

Ohh, this! I yelled at the screen, too, wishing Merlin would just be done with it and heal Isolde. I love that you picked up there and wrote it :)
And I liked how Merlin runs to find the Dragon in his grief, how Arthur witnesses the entire mind-blowing spectacle. Thank you for this satisfactory read!

OH!! If ONLY this this this could have been! How brilliant would s4 have ended! This is now my head canon for the ending of Merlin. Thanks so much for giving me (and apparently many others) an ending worth squeeing over. *humbly bows in your presence*
