I just did a search on wikipedia, the average lifespan of a dog is 10-12yrs.
So, by the age of 45, I will start to look for a dog to keep.

When the dog dies, 10 - 12 yrs later, it will mean, it's about my time to leave this world too.
I will be 55 - 57 years old, when my dog dies...

I will spend 3yrs to moan for my dog;

I just realise the singer of the song I love so much, isn't some gorgeous hunk nor handsome dude.
He is just an ordinary looking man with abit of over-weight problem.
