Technicon the Last is over. Kinda sad, but I honestly think it would be better for it to die and be resurrected full-strength in a few years than to limp along like this. Just not the same when it's not a 24-hour con at a hotel. But there's precious little in the way of facility space in Bburg, or more importantly, staff.

I totally forgot to mention this, but I'm going to be in San Francisco for the AGU meeting from 14-19 December. In fact, I'm here now. So if anyone's in the area and wants to meet up, lemme know. I'm staying at the Powell hotel.

David finally had his appointment with the pediatrician and got his four-month shots. A bit late. His schedule was rather disrupted by the move. Doc said we can try giving him food, so we tried some rice cereal. His reaction ( behind the cut )

One of the things I like best about Thanksgiving is the next morning, when I have a fried-egg sandwich with leftover cranberry chutney on it. Nobody else thinks this is a good idea, but I like it. We didn't come back with any leftovers. Except for the turkey carcass. A large amount of turkey rice soup is now sitting in the fridge. OK, turkey ( Read more... )
