Fours weeks in, and I'm really enjoying Being Human. This week's had a bit of unsubtle crap ("EE" was a bit much, "EA" would have been better), but was, by and large, excellent and makes me very interested to see how it all pans out. Ditto, I wanted to watch this based on your recommendation and am thoroughly enjoying it. Thank you :)

PS also agree with you about short arcing plots and episodic things; it's what lost and heroes do badly but shows like buffy and Dr Who manage well.

Doctor Who manages it well through being highly episodic, and having a bizarre set of narrative assumption.

Buffy... Buffy mainly managed it through having good writing and by maintaining a strong episodic, formatty element as well as a serial element. But then, I stopped watching after season 3, so what do I know?

Re Buffy: Exactly, I was holding up the two as examples of shows that manage both. Buffy series 7 was a bit long-arc, short on plot but other than that it did pretty well.

That's why I was so annoyed that firefly didn't even get a full season, it would have been so interesting to see how that panned out if given the chance to develop naturally. The film was great an' all but...
