Although it was only a couple of months ago, Nineworlds Geekfest seems a lifetime ago, I suspect that this is because the journey back down to earth afterwards came with quite the bump. On a lighter note, if I were to get a new username, what should it be?
I've had battle_kitten for a while on a number of sites, but increasingly it doesn't feel like a good fit. Even if I don't change my journal name, there's a new geeky forum I want to join and could do with a new name for that :)

You know what really sucks? Casual homophobia at your place of work.
Thankfully my team is almost 100% supportive and lovely with regards to my sexuality and LGBT issues in general. I've only ever once had an someone say something, without realising how incredibly offensive it was to me, and it was an accident.

I know that most people on my friends list are not UK based, but just in case, I'd like to share a note I just posted on Facebook, in an attempt to get as many people as possible involved in deciding who we elect our governments. I have no idea if it'll have any effect, but if I encourage even one person to vote who wouldn't have, that's something.

I don't like football. There I've said it. A bit of a kickabout in the park is alright, but I'd rather have a frisbee and as for watching tiny little people running round on a TV screen? Forget it.
