Planting, Sprouting
On March 26, I planted 24 varieties of flowers, vegetables & herbs in peat pots, 3 peat pots per variety, 3 seeds per pot, unless they were tiny. I didn't really plan to plant that much stuff, but I got carried away! I'm thrilled to say about half the seeds have sprouted. Plus one of the dipper gourd seeds sprouted. Yay! No Tantrum Today, Feeling Calmer
I'm feeling much better today, thank you, because I can rant on LJ without hurting any of my family's feeling, because none of them read my LJ. My other daughter (M), attended the wedding/blessing of the home event and told me all about it this afternoon. That made me feel so much better. Good Day
The side yard on the east side of the house finally got some cleaning. The bulbs are coming up nicely: tulip, daffodil, hyacinth. The mints are indestructible, of course. Dinner
Our mailman invited us to dinner tonight. We walked to Wisconsin Burger, which is right around the corner from our home. I got to meet his lovely wife, whose name is Linda, same as mine. Seeds & More Seeds, Oh, Boy!
Can't wait to get started. Bought veggie, flower and gourd seeds. Store was selling lots of seeds for 8 pkg/$1, and other seeds at a discount, depending on the company. Years ago I had Amaranth (Love Lies Bleeding). I decided to plant some again. They're very showy plants, with long strings of tiny dark red flowers. They also reseed themselves ( Read more... ) -
Driving In The Fog
Oh boy! I got to drive in the fog today & yesterday. I love it. I probably wouldn't like it so much if I was away from the city & had absolutely no idea where the road was. But in the city everything looks different with muted colors. Bright sunshine when I drove north to the mall. When I came back out to the car, thick fog. Drove south into bright ( Read more... ) -
On My Own
I'm posting this in LJ because my husband, Harry, never reads anything in LJ. I love him dearly & he takes very good care of me every day, all the time. He has gone to Florida for two weeks due to a death in the family. It's only been one day & one night so far, and I'm having a really, really, really good time on my own. Friday & Saturday
Friday was supposed to be the last good day, weather-wise, so I worked outside in the yard most of the day, trying not to overdo it. I came in the house every couple of hours, drank water & sat or laid down for 15 minutes or so. I cut down the mints & small Luneria to make room for the mums that are blooming now.

Turkeys, My Back, My Mind
Yesterday morning twelve turkeys showed up in our front yard for breakfast, loudly arguing about who was going to get what. I was asleep, but Harry saw them. I don't know why he didn't wake me.Later he bought a big bag of turkey food (they don't sell small bags).
