yay, glad to hear it. yep organic milk really does taste better. we've got a few of those lightbulbs as well, but the problem is that they have a definite flourescent look, so we haven't changed all of our bulbs yet. but i'm sure they will be coming out with bulbs that look a little softer sometime soon. also, if you are going to be painting your new appartment at all, i'd recommend using milk paint, since there are no harmful chemicals or odors ( ... )

i don't know that we will have any choice in the paint department; i think we have to pick from whatever the developer offers. i've never heard of milk paint before, but it sounds like a great innovation since i am highly allergic to oil paint fumes!

yeah, i've been lazy about making my own cleaning products too. the only thing i've successfully made myself is the drain cleaner-- baking soda, vinegar, boiling water in various combinations. have you had good experiences with second generation's line? many years ago my parents tried some eco cleaning products that didn't work at all so i've been been reluctant to buy stuff without knowing if it works! gotta find out if consumer reports has reviewed that stuff :)

i've used all three brands i mentioned, and they work just fine. of course, they don't have the industrial power that the nasty chemical stuff does, but they all work fine for me. and smell so much better. we use second generation paper products as well, and they are good too. the paper towels take a little getting used to, but we like them now.

thanks. we've been using the second generation paper towels and napkins and they are fine. steve put his foot down at the recycled toilet paper, though it didn't bother me. i haven't tried their tissues yet though.
