hello jane_ers.

so, since jane went down the shitter, I let my subscription run out and did not renew. (jesus christ. those layouts.)

but now I feel all left out in the girly mag cold.

for you fellow jane_ers that let your subscriptions run out, did you find a new magazine to replace jane? anybody?

The magazine is actually really good now. There's a lot of feature articles and I really like the Back Stories.

I agree that it was complete crap for the six months before Jane left but it's back up again.

I started reading more of Bitch and Bust again.

ya, and although it is a mainstream magazine i like marie claire a lot b/c it really does try to be a little bit more empowering than just '10 ways to please your man' etc.
i find the best way to read a magazine is to just rip out all the ads, rip out the fashion papges and see what kind of magazine you are left with... so Jane and Marie Claire and Bitch are my favorites.

I discovered Planet awhile ago, but it only comes out 4 times a year and it's been awhile since the last issue. I don't know if the magazine is still running or if it went to shit, but I really liked it. It was smart and informative without being dry. I mean, it entertained me, but I think it also opened my eyes to other issues and such. It doesn't have sex articles or anything though. I know some people miss the way those articles used to be in Jane and I don't know if you're one of them, but I thought I'd mention it in case.

Christ, my Jane subscription runs out in November. All of the cool writers at Jane are leaving.
But, I have found that VOGUE is so much better-yeah, the stuff in VOGUE is expensive, but I have been able to find some stuff that looks just like the stuff in VOGUE.
Allure is a great magazine-it has something in there for every budget.
I also read GLAMOUR. I love Glamour.
