Pah. NHS website says I have swine 'flu. Of course it might be wrong, since as a diagnostic tool it seems a bit of a blunt instrument, but whatever it is it does feel rather like being hit with a ton of bricks :-(

One day there will be a proper update in this journal (I have all sorts of notes and drafts for one) but today is not that day...

I remember being a bit dubious about the website diagnosis - in any case, sounds like you have a sucky disease, and I hope you feel better soon. :)

If it's any consolation, today I sat through a case presentation of a many who was diagnosed with swine flu over the phone (and given tamiflu). Turned out to be fulminant toxic megacolon from an infection.

On balance, probably NOT consoling. What I mean to say is - it may well not be flu! But I'm sorry you are ill, and hope you feel much better soon!
