My resolution this year is to stop thinking I'm going to read the mailing lists that appear in my inbox and just unsubscribe- things like 38 degrees, Chicken Out, Topshop, Museums Association.

My new project is to try and read a (translated) novel/novella written by someone from every country in the world.

I'm having one of those "everyone in mainstream politics is a Tory" arguments with someone- obviously this was a statement I made that has been denied. It's on twitter so I can't actually have the argument because there's not enough letters to explain that kind of statement but it's important that I get what I'm talking about. Have any of you read a Japanese novel that wouldn't be described as slightly morbid?

I met Terry Pratchett when I was about 8, thinking about it now he was a bit like Ted Mallory in Deep Secret.

I don't spend a lot of time thinking about Charles Clarke but after consistently running into his articles when I worked at the New Statesman he started to piss me off quite a lot. I will now write an agitated rant to him on this livejournal ( Read more... )

I'm not sure I'm getting this Swine flu thing. It seems a bit overdone to me what with the complete lack of scientific testing and the fact that no one outside of Mexico seems to have manifested crazy bad illness. It sounds like... flu.
