Though the dialogue and plot potential were never quite realized; Episode II turned in so very much more to the hungry eye than Episode I

i simply must disagree
i rather enjoyed the "last" three episodes of star wars
but the first two are full of . . . well, technological art and bad acting
lucas should really hire a new casting staff or stop doing it himself
however, i am glad that they finally showed why yoda was so "legendary"
in any case, most won't agree, but x-men and matrix were far superior movies to both star wars episodes . . .
better actors, better scripts, better stories
ya know, maybe lucas should drop some actors from the third episode and find a place for hugh jackman, i mean hell, he was even good in "kate and leopold"
anyway,
i had to disagree, since you decided to voice your opinion so harshly, cuz you know i don't go out like that
chris
p.s. they should of left star wars alone, to be a cult classic of sorts, but they didn't. just like the first two batman movies, they just had to go a ruin it

Star Wars tends to appeal to people with attachment issues and tendencies for the arts.
Episode II was very artistic and the characters were all played exactly as Lucas advised, calm and collected. (just like Jedi are supposed to act) whether or not this makes it interesting is beside the fact that Jedi mentality is based on shoalin philosophy.
As for the acting:
Hayden Christensen was nominated for a golden globe for Life as a house
And Natalie Portman is excellent in the Professional
So I just figure since I liked the acting, I'm not going out on a limb about it.
So my bottom line is, some things are the way they are because thats all they know to be.
This isn't an attack at you Chris, most of this started cause of Ebert's fat mouth.

yes natalie portman is a fine actress, the professional was a good movie, so was "where the heart is"
but maybe good actors can't act well with bad scripts or dialogues
i can understand that you enjoyed it simply based on your love for all things star wars, so i consider you biased
and, just for the record josh, i didn't take it as an attack
everybody has their right to opinion, it should just be as unbiased as possible, objectivity is the best policy here
all in all, i just think lucas would at least try to do a better job making an overall good movie than attempting to create eye candy for cgi fanatics and star wars lunatics
but i guess i'm in the minority on that point, not that i've ever cared about being in the minority
Just excessively critical;
without any dispute over ideals, life would be boring and predictable.
I still think it was a good movie even without the immense bias for all things Star Wars, not to say that it IS a good movie for everyone else, its just that I enjoyed it for every reason I enjoy most other movies.
You'll have to excuse me, Star Wars is something I draw swords over. I feel obligated to defend the series :)
I'm writing this comment 17 years after it was created. Chris was right, Episose 2 is fucking garbage. I cannot believe I defended it... Also, I used to be an annoying little shit lol.

I still say it is entertaining for people who grew up with it. Oh Jesus, Dolly likes it...
