So sorry--I suck at keeping this up anymore. I'm mostly on Twitter these days as Rainbow_ark. Any of my old friends still watching?

My hope is that some will come back to LJ with the justified grief FB is facing these days. LJ is still under the radar, and a quieter, I might even say, more creative place.

Sorry for the late reply, Hi Czar. Well, at least a few of us are around, even if it's like me: a little less than semi-regular. I miss the good times, but I guess there's always potential for some of that.

How's life been treating you?

I'm doing well, thanks! It's been a *really* long time since I posted a "what's going on with my life" post, so I should probably do one sometime soon.

After spending a few years living full-time in an RV trailer and traveling around, I settled down and bought 50 acres of woods "out in the middle of nowhere" with a small cabin on it. I've been house-sitting during the winter, as the cabin isn't (yet!) heated, and spending most of the rest of the year there. It's very peaceful way out in the woods, as you probably know.

This year, I need to get solar panels, a wood stove, and an ATV with a plow blade, so that I can spend next winter there.

How are you doing? Are you still doing a long daily commute, or did you find somewhere to stay during the week? If I'm ever in your area, we should go out for a coffee and a chat! Are you still running BFC? I do spend much of my summers nude, but I'm not sure whether I'd be comfortable attending a nude con or not.

That sounds nice, wow, 50 acres! Ours is 2, but it still feels nice--the naturally occurring trees, deer, occasional raccoons, bear. Yep, we had to get a new bird feeder because the bear obliterated the old one.

We love our wood stove in the winter, and to date we haven't had to buy wood, but have cut up fallen trees and older wood already on our property.

Yes, still have the long commute, but staying with a fur 2 nights a week who lives and works nearby. He's a red panda, and just a very nice guy. I'd love to just chat. I work in Reston VA but of course we live in Paw Paw WV. We haven't had a BFC in a few years. The group is kind of fragmented because so many have left LJ, and it hasn't always been financially feasible for my wife and I to host one. Maybe one day again, coinciding with Avalon's MusicFest or similar event like it has been in times past. People who don't think they'd be comfortable are always surprised at how fast they feel at ease when the atmosphere is friendly.

Hey Hauke,

With all of the issues that FB is going through, I keep hoping that the furries who migrated there will get fed up and give LJ another try. Not that LJ has any less to do with Russia than FB does, but it tends to be nicer I think, and like Twitter, no mandate to use real names, so that's a plus.

It's not my dream career, but it's something. I'm happy to be blessed with a job at all really, it makes me feel good to go to my job everyday and be a small functioning cog in the machine that is society... and get paid every two weeks. :3
