wow: i just had the best telemarketer conversation of my life - not because of the content, but because the man's *accent* was pure music: from the sound of it, i'm pretty sure this guy was an Indian man who learned english in Scotland, or from Scottish people, at any rate. a day of firsts:

today i played my first game of paintball. it was so good!

today i also got an "invitation for an interview" at Yale. i feel odd and unclear.

last night was the first of this term's student composer concerts at WLU, and it felt like an actual *event* - it was exciting to see the hall filled with people, many of whom were drawn there by the promise of seeing/hearing 6 grand pianos on stage at once, assembled to close the evening off with Six Pianos, by Steve Reich.
