Perhaps you should invent a case that would protect the LCD. With an LCD that large, and considering how flush it is with the case, I can see how they would break.

It's only the 4th generation models. The ones previous and the new iPod photo don't have the same issue with breakage. It makes a lot of people angry because they're old iPod was so durable and the new one they shelled out big $$ for breaks so quickly with no replacement under warranty.
Of course, Apple is claiming abuse broke the screen and that's the official reason for not replacing it. However, some people really did little ot nothing wrong, besides break out the wallet for an expensive third party case ...

You may be onto something there, Ken. They did thin the case out a bit, which may have affected the structure, allowing the case to be tweaked just enough to let the LCD break.
What does it mean for me, personally, if I didn't even understand the majority of the text in that comment? I take it to mean that I might want to brush up on *some* topic or another, I'm just not sure what. ;)

Maybe they had to use a thinner LCD to make room for a larger storage capacity?
