Friend still needs a job

You may have read some of the posts on pammalamma's journal about Pearlie, the lady we have been helping who lives in government housing with her four children.  She is a single mom, and unemployed, and we thought we had a job lined up for her at Luby's.  The job is walking distance from her house, and since she has no car, this seemed like an ideal place to ( Read more... )

That is just so disappointing about the Luby's GM - but I suppose not all that unusual.

Before I was a Christian, I had a very judgmental attitude toward people around me and was prone to making the same type of snap decisions as that GM. Now, because God has worked so much on my heart, I try very hard to look at every person as an individual that God loves, no matter what they look like or how they dress or speak.

I still have to work on this issue. I am still quick to judge people, especially if I feel that they are not very intelligent, or if they are negligent in their job duties (usually fellow Realtors). The word "idiot" crosses my lips much more frequently than I would like. I have a long way to go in my walk, but God is constantly teaching me and improving me.

By the way, Pearlie called me this morning to let me know that she has a new job working at Texas Linens, which is a warehouse where her step-dad works. I hope that this works out for her.
