We're planning to see it Christmas Day. I'll be so sad when it's all over.

Yes, it's sad that this is the last trip to Middle Earth. Somehow I doubt that The Silmarillion will ever happen!

Yours is the first reaction I've seen from anyone and I'm very relieved to see it's a positive one!

A week and a few days still for me before I can see it.

It's odd that it has been released in the UK before the US and Canada (not that I'm complaining!!)

It wasn't perfect - some bits didn't quite work for me - but overall it was vey, very good and I can't wait to see it again!

In this particular case, it being a Tolkien movie, I'm not surprised it would open in England before the US, as an honor to Tolkien's home country, but seems like most movies do get worldwide release before we see them here. Not sure what the thinking is in that.

I saw it this afternoon, and I loved it - yes, I think it is the best of the three films, and I thought the acting was wonderful. The humerous moments I liked, as I already knew there was going to be sadness. And I cried. I absolutely love battle-scenes anyway, not so much the fighting as showing how it builds to the combat, and thought it was brilliant. I want to see the EE, as I just want more!

I loved it, especially the comments about Legolas's mother. I never expected that! It helped to explain Thranduil's coldness. He wasn't perfect, or 'my' Thranduil, but much better than I'd dared hope.

Sad. Oh, yes. I cried too. I knew they'd die, but actually seeing it was awful. I need to see it again, and then the EE ...

It was more drawn-out than I expected it to be, and was more than I expected, since it is written so quickly in the book. I thought the way they did it was good, but it was quite dark, actually quite brutal, and very sad :(

I?m glad you enjoyed it, I wasn't aware it was already on!
me, I only wait for the "the eagles!" moment, so I just hope PJ didn't ruin that for me!

It was released in the UK today - I'm not sure about other countries.

The eagles were there. A bit late in the day, but they were there!

It'll be January before I get to see it but you've got me all excited!

I hope it lives up to your expectations! I've got a couple of extra days off in January (pre-Christmas is hopeless for me!) and plan to see it again then.
