Ah, the holidays...

I'm feeling all nostalgic today. We took Savannah to see the new Muppets movie yesterday. What? Projecting? Whatever do you mean? *innocent expression* Tis true, though, as someone raised during the Sunday Night Muppet Show era, the Muppets tend to put me in a happy place.

Sponge Bob better than the Muppets?! For shame, Josh, for shame.

Also, completely agree with you about the pumpkin pie, is mana from the gods. ;)

Yay! on the baking. Jane's going to bake Christmas cookies for the first time with me this year. It's not as common over here as in the States.

I know, right? On what planet is Sponge Bob even in the same zip code of awesomeness as the Muppets?

I had to go home and console myself over such crazy talk with a piece of pumpkin pie. ;-)

Awesome that you're starting a new tradition over there! I hope you and Jane have a total blast with it. :-)

Any allergies? Preferences? I was leaning toward my tried-and-true chocolate chip cookie bar recipe (not to toot my own horn or anything, but a few of my guy friends almost got in a fistfight over the last one XD), but if that's boring I can send you something more fun.

It is, isn't it? I mean, where have I gone wrong in this child's upbringing? Obviously she needs to be indoctrinated in the fabulousness of 70's/80's pop culture. ;-)

God I love Thanksgiving leftovers. It's the only time of the year I can get away with making a delicious turkey and cranberry sauce sandwich without Josh making faces at me over it, lol.

I loved the Muppets! Both then and now (my kids have memorized the story of me failing Frosh English because it was a night class and it was the same time as the Muppets. Given a choice between trekking in the cold to class or staying in and watching Kermit and the gang, Kermie won every time).

I think Sponge Bob has it's moments, but heck, I think Phineas and Ferb is better than Sponge Bob...

Can I make a rec for an AWESOME movie out now? Seriously, I'm telling everyone that they really need to see Arthur Christmas. I loved The Muppets, but I have to admit, I liked Arthur Christmas even more. And no one is going to see it, and they should. We dragged a friend who had no desire to see it, and she loved it. It's skyrocketed to the top of my favorite holiday movies. Really. It's very smart, funny, sweet, poignant, and all around awesome. And the voice tallent reads like a fandom who's who. So. Good.

We have a lot in common, you and I. We both love Ayn Rand, we both love Star Trek and K/S, XMFC and E/C, and now the Muppets. It's so awesome to know another kindred soul. :)

(Totally agree with you on Phineas and Ferb, btw, I think it's a very clever cartoon. I like it much better than Sponge Bob)

You know, I've seen the trailer to Arthur Christmas and had been contemplating taking Savannah to see it. I will definitely have to check it out now that it comes so highly recommended. Thank you!
