I watched part of the spelling bee. it was on ESPN! awesome. This one girl from, i think, jamaica had to spell "torrenticole" and she said one r instead of two, and when the judge "dinged" her, her face immediately turned into a frown and she covered her face and walked off. I almost cried.
Those kids are awesome. I wish I was a studious and focused a kid as they are. "May I have the language of origin please? thank you. may I have the definition please? thank you. Could you use the word in a sentence? thank you. are there any alternate pronunciations? thank you." and the commentators say, "wow, she makes it look so easy! You can tell how her background in French really paid off. she just tore that word apart and put it together again."
