awaiting Manuel to get online (which I somehow doubt he's going to do since he's over 2 hours late) I figure I might as well do SOMETHING worthwhile with my time

A lot of people just don't seem to realize that it's up to the people in the relationship to keep it together. Whether it's over the Internet or in person really doesn't make much difference. If the desire to make it work is there, then that's all you need.
You should find two yukata/kimono for Jacob and Chris and take pictures. Speaking of that, has anyone mentioned Shichigosan to you? Or Children's day... maybe if there's festivals happening next year they'll let Jacob in since he'll be 3 then ;)
You know there's a lady who sells $1 kimonos for kids somewhere near here (used of course). I just need to seek her out. I've heard she's got some good ones. I saw one the other day for about $20 in Jacob's size and it was *adorable*
No one had mentioned Shichigosan to me, but I don't know if its an over all Japanese thing or just Okinawa but there's some sort of festival EVERY month. We never know what's going on til the month of usually. As for Children's day, we'd heard of Golden week but not of any specific angeling towards children. They were more excited about the dragon boat races :)
