Odd that they wouldn't leave up your beautiful decorations for their own purposes. You think they'd at least appreciate the time it saved them...

Ack, I panicked when I read "All week, anyhow".

I can't even picture how a classroom at double capacity without a teachers desk actually operates. And you're handling the loss of your week of vacation far better than I would have... that sort of thing and my inevitable Poor Handling of it shows why I could never succeed as a teacher.

This is sad on so many levels. I know how awful it is to put that much work into something and then have it ripped away for nothing you ever had any control over. Dealing with shattered expectations is hard, and I think you're totally entitled to have a good cry about it. And that's not even considering the sadness of a school that's this overcrowded. Wow.
