I started this blog long ago more or less to read a few friend's blogs on LJ. I have had my regular blog for about three years and I have one I post to myspace. What a freakin' night I had at my gig on Halloween.

I didn't go on till about midnight. I didn't really get to spin my set until after 1 am though.

They day after I went to the protest up in Crawford, my knee swole up, turned neon pink and got hot. After spending about six hours in the E/R, the let me leave with a presription for the next ten days. It went away but two weeks later it came back with a vengence ( Read more... )

Sometimes I feel like the old crusty rock guy telling the young cat, "you don't know how to rock, we really rocked back in the day." I so rarely get into new stuff. If there is ever a hip hop oldies stations, it would be all over for me. I do see that as a format that has a future with heads getting older but that is not my point.

-I am scared. I hate admitting weekness of any kind. I had an appointment with my surgeon's office today. I have slowed down on record buying till next weekends Austin Record Convention. I did buy two records this weekend. I picked up the soundtrack to Deliverance. Scratching along with Dueling Banjos is a blast. I can't wait till I get comfy enough to play that out. The other one was a breakbeat record from DJ Rectangle. I just got home from the gig I spun at "The Lumber Yard". I spun a R&B/New Jack set from about 6:30 to 7:30 or so. I had been wanting to spin that set for awhile. Spinning from a stage is a whole different dynamic. It is not bad, just a different dynamic. The best barometer to tell how well you are doing is how many people are dancing.
