Reconnecting

Last night I got an email from a friend I've known since first grade with whom I had drifted out of contact with for the past 3-4 years. It was great to hear from him again, and of course I wrote back. We've sort of drifted in and out of contact several times over the course of our lives

I recently had a nice message on Facebook from a friend I haven't seen or talked to in years. She's in Switzerland now, which I knew. Her parents are the same age as my Dad, and all three of them grew up as close friends in the same neighborhood many years ago. She and I are the same age, and despite us living in the same town only off and on for a few years growing up, we've always been pretty good friends. So I was thrilled when she tracked me down on Facebook. She's definitely someone I'd love to see again sometime when I'm in Europe.

And talk about a small world -- this same girl was good friends in high school in the Dallas area with a guy who became my college roommate for two years several years later.
