It turns out that Jeff won't be starting his new job today after all. He got a call on Friday afternoon from his new boss's admin saying that the results from his background check have not come back yet. When they do, they will call him and he will start the next day. UNLESS... We can't think of anything the background check might reveal that

I think the issue is just that is start date was just a week after his offer. If he had been currently working, his start date would have been later if he had to give two weeks' notice.

We think we'll like the TV too. We will unpack it and set it up tonight. We got worried as soon as we got home, though, because Jeff saw a review of it on CNet that complained that the screen was too reflective and in some circumstances light from the TV was reflected to the edges of the screen. But we will evaluate for ourselves with a variety of lighting conditions. I'm sure it will be great. It sure looked brilliant in the store.
