I'm trying to keep my expectation low but I would love to see her implode.

Did you happen to see the joint interview Couric did with McCain and Palin? He was clearly uncomfortable. He was fidgety and twiddled his thumbs while Palin spoke. Based on that, I don't believe he's at all happy with her, despite what he says. And that's my chief complaint about McCain: he's made so many concessions to his personal beliefs to get this close to the White House, I don't know if even he knows what he really believes about a lot of things anymore.

> he's made so many concessions to his personal beliefs...

You just hit the nail right on the head. This became clear when, after referring to Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson as "agents of intolerance" five or six years ago, in 2006 there he was at Liberty University giving their commencement address and saying what a wonderful guy Falwell was.

During the infamous green-screen backdrop speech he gave the same day Obama gave his big speech when he clinched the nomination, McCain looked very uncomfortable saying his words. I thought, "he doesn't even believe his own crap."

It's so sad that a man who was such a seasoned and astute politician (not meant in an insulting way) has made so many blunderous choices the past couple years to get to where he is today.

I'm involved in a multi-time-zone drinking game during the debate tonight. VERY entertaining.
