Here's a commercial about Prop 8 in California that really tells it like it is. I don't think it's being aired, I think it's just out there in YouTubeLand. It's probably too incendiary to win over the few remaining undecided/middle-of-the-road voters, but it's great for firing up the base.

Well, part of my beef is that separation of church and state has got to go both ways. Government should not legislate churches and churches shouldn't try to pass dogma as law. Taliban, anyone?

Exactly!

But these people cling to the belief that this is a "Christian nation, founded on Christian principles." Of course, that's completely untrue. Most of our founding fathers were decidedly unreligious, and went to great lengths to establish this nation free of religious influence.

There is some credibility to the claim that this is a "Christian nation" due to the fact that approx. 80% of the people claim to be Christians, but that includes everyone from religious fanatics to those who might show up on Christmas and Easter and whenever they need a backdrop for a wedding.
