So I found this website from "Fias Co Farm" =P  it's a photo-journal of a La Mancha "earless" goat (they're not really earless, but they sure look like it) giving birth . . . in extensive detail . . . it's a must-see D8

yes . . . i like the first picture best . . . the one where Peepers is screaming her lungs out because of the pain of her contractions =P

. . . and earless goats don't listen to music, they watch podcasts xP

Howdy gal!! How are you doing??

I was watching the video and thinking, "Wow! Isn't that exactly what you're NOT supposed to do?" 0.o In fact, it looked like she could easily have hurt the kid or the mom (I don't even think she was pulling with mom's contractions)!

I did some more research on Fias Co Farm and I don't think she's breeding for quality milkers . . . she just breeds for temperament and pretty color-patterns. Her goats are just pets, so she's not looking to improve her breeding stock or anything. But still, big no-no. There was another video where some guy actually stuck both his hands in there and pulled really hard on the kid even before that bubble of gunk came out!!!! D=As for the CAE thing . . . I did some more research on that too (that seems to be what I do best . . . research that is, lol =P), and one of the major presentations of CAE is encephalitis in young kids up to 3 months old.
