Some of you know, the past few years I have been trying to be "a runner." Or jogger. Or, probably most accurately a plodder. Each year, I add a mile to my yearly goal and attempt it on my birthday in September

Jo, I think we're living parallel lives. This year, I took on a teaching position and love it, but have much less energy to write a longer work. And a year ago, I started running with an outdoor exercise class. I love that, too, and have accomplished things I didn't think I could. All of it is hard and almost always hard to start, but when accomplished, enormously satisfying.

Thanks for the PERFECT post this lovely morning, Donna Gephart
Hooray! I know it feels so hard sometimes. I have to remind myself how great I feel following a run. No matter how badly I do at it, the act of getting outside and breathing the air is so rewarding. Gotta remember. Over and over. We can do it! :)
Just what I needed

I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately too. And this is a good mantra to keep in my head. Thank you so much. May I could do more... and today I will.
Maybe I could do more...

Thank you for the inspirational post today--it's very timely for my life. I watched your progress on jogging. I actually gleaned some inspiration from it to get my jogging program going when I decided to get in shape for a triathlon just over a year ago. I'm still in training, as planned, for a June 1 gig. It's been slow progress, but good. While in training, my current WIP started to take over my life, and it all seems to be falling in place. I'm hoping--fingers crossed, to have at least a fourth draft done by our fall conference.
My "Maybe I could do more..." is getting the house clean too. :)
I'm not a jogger (bad knees), but your post has inspired me to increase my yoga. There's something about a long, hard winter that puts a lot of us into hibernation mode, me included. Also, I'm going to make a point to increase my writing. Thanks.
