I am only one person, but I can smile at a neighbor. I can ask for a name. I can wave. I am only one person, but I can pick up trash on the ground. I can recycle. I am only one person, but I can donate to a charity. I can recycle my own goods. I am only one person, but I can volunteer to read at an elder care center. I can cry. I am only one person, but I teach. As a teacher, I can model kindness every day.

Hi, Jo and TW campers,
Thank you for this poem prompt. A beautiful way to write a poem and also reflect. Here goes:
I am only one person, but I can teach my students that being kind moves the world forward, curiosity leads to fulfillment, faith is important, goal-setting can lead them in the right direction, having a voice in America is their right, heroes can be found in dark times, knowing and voting is essential, learning about the past can help them in the future, playing outside is good for them, pressing on through obstacles is the only way, reading leads to knowledge and stories that can move them, social media shouldn’t control them, success is earned, they should seize each and every day, whatever they do, be confident, brave, and strong.
