While technically not valid because it's not interweb, apparently Intel pulled a prank on their employees on their intranet site. Complete with a video and everything that said they were merging with Apple. Here's a copy of my friend's description of it ( ... )

Then the senior designer in the next cubicle came by. She asked something about if it's real or not. In all seriousness I thought my supervisor (actually my manager, but he had been my supervisor for such a long time that he'd just be my super forever) made a mistake, so I basically told her that these "big agreements" are made all the time, and some of them might even look like mergers but aren't. Take the Micron-Intel alliance, for example (I think at the time I said Infineon, oh well)- There are Intel NAND flash memory chips being made inside Micron's plants ( ... )
