Happy Hanukkah!

Ehehe, I hate to say it, but I thought those oil lamps for the cyber menorah where glasses of whiskey with candles in them. XD

His mother was offended that Steve and I do not say hello to him every day when we come in, so much so that she called the principal and demanded that we be "penalized" for this "act of discrimination."

*rolls eyes*
Discrimination is BARRING or otherwise EXCLUDING someone based on a trait they possess. NOT failing to 'say hello' to that person. That would be the same as me saying my maths teacher is discriminating me based on my gender because he doesn't let me answer all the questions.

:) Have fun!

Me, my mother and my sister work in three different group homes for mentally retarded men and women, ranging from ages 18 to 73. When we go out in public with them, we're always aware of stares and slights that might hurt their feelings. However, not saying hello to one of them isn't discriminatory in the least and in fact, it's pretty ridiculous for his mother to get worked up about it, considering what he probably does experience in school. Unless, of course, you greet each and every single person you pass except for this particular guy.

Is the mother there with him, how did she know?

The boy said something when he went home about two teachers who don't say hi to him and that they teach music. Guess the mom figured it out from there. Still, that's so completely ridiculous.

Y'see it was a mistranslation - not burning bush burning *beer*.

Of course burning Bush is not an unpleasant thought.

Happy happy!
