I am a christian, so listen to what i am about to say. I love it the way Christian like to butter everything up ya know, Jesus loves, Just put all you worries in Jesus, Jesus died on the cross for me and you just because he loves us, Jesus is all power and all knowing, blah blah blah blah blah and more lets make the non christian feel and make them ( Read more... )

well all i have to say is that i agree with you and that i am impressed. People in this world need to realize what the truth is and to take hold of it. it sounds like this person just did not have a clear idea of what the truth was

Patrick, it may be the truth, but someone is not going to listen to it unless they have a respect for you. A hardcore non-Christian that doesn't even know you personally is not going to listen to you if you tell them to turn or burn. And, I never sugar-coated anything. I never gave her any impression that she can go to Heaven believing what she does now. My friend Jason that I'm baptizing Sunday became a Christian after he already got a respect for me, knew I cared for him and loved him, and THEN I told him the truth. If you ask most Christians what their testimony is, most of them will say that they were attracted to it because of how they felt loved and cared for by a Christian, and they wanted to see where this love came from. I am VERY upset that she actually admitted to me a few months ago that there just might be a god, and now she just hates Christianity moreso than she already did because of what you said to her. Our ultimate goal is, believe it or not, NOT to just simply tell the Gospel message, but to do the most effective ( ... )

Oh, and by the way, mathemeticians do have a proof that 1+1=3. I dunno how, but there is a proof that shows that.

First of all for you to try and force somthing on someone is wrong. There are some people in this world that need help finding god not pressure, like your comments on going to hell if you don't believe what i believe. If the person is trying to come to terms with god or to find him do YOU really believe that you shoving something like that down thier throat is really going to help the situation? I , as a christian, believe on showing people to god and letting them make thier own determinations, If they find God then thats great, If not I WILL NOT under and circumstances belittle them by saying oh well I guess you are going to hell. Main point here is try a different approach at bringing God into other peoples lives. Lets not try and piss them off and scare them away. don't come directly out and say you are going to hell if you don't repent, try to explain it to them and help and coach them to understand. I have said my peace.

Why don't you get into it, Just let the holy spirit enter you life and change you, Jesus will forgive you that is what he was doing a clavery but you can't get to heaven if you keep denying Him. If you were to die right now where would you be, would you be in heaven with the risen Lord Jesus Christ or would you be in hell with the fater of lies Satan. If you deny Jesus and push him away you will go to hell and you will be tormented beyond you wildest dreams for eternity, so do yourself a favor and let Jesus enter you life, He loves you, He can and will forgive every thing you have to shame his name, its time to be born again, now is the the time you might not have another day, so make today the day when you are born again in your new identity in Jesus, Don't let Satan control you and lie to you anymore turn you problems and fears to the Lord call on his name and He will meet you where ever you are

sheesh. patrick.. that was intense. im not even going talk about that.. i guess i should probably call you or something to talk about this.. but im really finding it hard to get around the world view of things (as we were talking about last week) no matter what im thinking about (with regards to jesus and my religion)it keeps slipping right back in. i dunno why... and while your entry is a bit harsh to read at first, i agree with some of what you are saying. i wish i had so much faith that i could be so strong willed.

well we are all called to be like God, and things that the world does aren't good things. Out of obeidience to God we all should just stop and repent and seek out his will for our lives, i would just encourage you to pray for wisdom and the that God will show how and why the things you are unsure about are Bad or Good. Ya know i don't know what i would do if i was in their shoes. I kinda some times like to reach out and share the gospel with them but for someone like you who is unsure about a lot of things, you should just focus on finding a stand point that will allow you to seek out what the Bible says about it, or you can ask me and i will try my hardest to find answers for you (not my oppions)but just pray for wisdom and wait on God to answer you and give you the wisdom you are looking for

First of all, word to Chris. He's got a seriously valid point.

Secondly, I didn't go to all of that trouble and write my responsorial post just to piss you off. I promise. I did it because I was thinking about where I'm coming from and I wanted to let you and my other friends know.

I feel that I explained quite rationally what I feel is true and why. Of course, you are more than welcome to disagree with me. But I want to know WHY. WHAT/WHO is God? WHY do you think that God exists? WHY do you think that the nature of God is this, that, and the other?

I'm not being sarcastic or merely rhetorical here. I truly would like a Christian to explain these things to me. But employ logic and rationality, not reactionary emotions....things that would appeal to the rational skeptic.

I don't mean to excite anger/hostility/whatever...just looking for different points of view.

Why, God sent his own son Jesus Christ to the earth to show us how to live righteously, and to be the perfect sacrifice thus being crucified on the cross just so people like you and i wouldn't have to bear all our sins, because when Jesus was crucified he died for every single sin you and i could ever commit ( ... )

Okay, you have explained what you believe, but again, there was no logical answer to the question WHY. Why do you believe in God? Why do you believe in Satan? Why do you believe that the bible is the Truth? Why do you believe that Jesus was the Son of God who was sent to bring us to God?

I can't answer all your questions and neither can chris even if he thinks he can he can't neither canIf you cannot logically answer these basic questions about your personal beliefs, how can you POSSIBLY expect someone like me (who has formulated his/her belief system by means of LOGIC and RATIONALITY), to just give up all of my beliefs and take up yours ( ... )

Hey Patrick,

I must say, I appreciate your passion for the truth in this entry.

I don't think I'd ever be real harsh upfront with someone, (Because as Chris said, it's important to gain a little respect.) If you are going to tell someone a hard to hear truth, than it is important that they respect you, because they are more apt to listen to you.

But that's just the thing. I think a lot of people show love to non-christians, but many times, I don't think it's because they actually want to show them the love of Christ. I think it's because they don't want to cause conflict, or trouble, or perhaps be dogged. See, if we are entering loving relationships with non-christians, there should come a point where you can say, without christ, the bible says you're going to hell, and they'll listen. They might not accept, but they'll listen, knowing you say the truth out of love, not condemnation.

But good entry.
