If I needed any additional incentive to follow through with the house-hunting (which I have started) I'm getting a real strong reason right now. I seem to have acquired new upstairs neighbors who like music with a very strong bass line. Everything is vibrating in my apartment...

And our word of the day for you is: bagpipes. Real loud bagpipes. Or recorded real loud bagpipes. Or a pipe band. Or two, preferably approaching from opposite directions.

Ok, now I'm really punchy.

But it did work for me--my upstairs neighbor had one techno song on repeat at *top* volume, and I was trying to finish a paper on a tight deadline. I put my bagpipe music on, because I could tune that out much better, and sure enough, they did stop pretty quickly after that.
