When I was seventeen, I did an internship at Muhlenberg. Lived in one of the dorms for about six weeks. Now, my roommate and I knew how to turn the thermostat for the room on and off. Just stick a hand behind Alissa's closet and hope for the best. No idea how to control the temperature though. To warm up the room, we would open the windows.
The day I moved out, my father, by chance, moved Alissa's closet.
It turns out the thermostat not only could be adjusted, but it was stuck at 58 degrees FOR THE ENTIRE SUMMER.
58 degrees? eep. but i feel like there are some variables there to consider - some building are just naturally really cold, or some thermostats are really finicky.
the sad thing about the light switch thing is that i knew exactly where it was - a little weird, but it's in the hall just outside my room. i just assumed it didn't actually turn anything on, since the first time i tried it nothing happened (which was *before* i had plugged in any of my lamps >_<) duh.
