A Query

Hello everyone :)  I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas, or if you don't celebrate Christmas, the winter holiday of your preference.  Mine was just fine.  The day after though, we here in NY got socked with a snow storm.  So, ya know, that was fun.  I'm not sure what the final snowfall tally was, but I'd say its north of 2 feet.  Luckily, we ( Read more... )

The Bumble probably likes the snow!

I was wondering if anyone wanted to engage in a bit of mid-season analysis of the final year of Smallville.
Sure, I'll play! Still waiting on a solid action ep. for S10...

Cool! Thats one. :)

The Bumble seemed unconcerned with this pile of snow that was sitting on his head. I was very proud of him.

I think it's pretty telling that I'm still stuck on 10x06, despite being a pretty regular (and OCD) watcher. It's not that I've found this season BAD per se (I can think of plenty of other seasons that have put me off a lot more), but I guess I'm just losing interest. :(

I get that. Its really sad for me that this is the shows last season, and I'm struggling with apathy over it.

OK, cool. I think you and I are probably very much in the same place with the show right now. I know a lot of people love Homecoming, but I honestly think people are so enamored of the furture stuff that they let some of the problems in the ep slide. And hey, I can't say that I don't understand that.

Honestly, I had so few expectations for SPN, I'm surprised at how much I've been enjoying it. Soulless Sam was a trip!

I'd be interested. I don't quite know what to make of this season and it makes me wish that they had an eleventh. I don't want to feel disappointed by the finale of this show :(

The first half is getting a c from me also. I am very meh on what is coming up in the second half. The first half I have loved two episodes...Ambushed and Homecoming, liked Shield and Luthor, the others were meh Harvest,Lazarus, Isis,(except the parts at the DP including the last scene and the well done Tess characterization), Abandoned, and the boring badly directed, badly acted (guest stars) badly edited, and badly written Patriot, to the truly offensive and shitastic Supergirl. For this being the last season of Smallville it sure feels like the writing is all over the place and the concept of season 10 is feeling to big for the writers to handle. I wish the writers stuck to the VRA and Intergang as a story line for the last season. I was against Darkseid from the first because I just knew this writers could not do it justice. Also really tiered of all of the guest Superhero's and that is why I am not looking forward to the back half of the season.

We really are very similar in our assessment of the season, and thats surprising, since we don't always come at it from the same place. I think it says something that we share so many of the same issues with the season.

And yeah, what we know is coming up in the 2nd half is one big fat pile of Meh. Thats scary.

No we don't always come at our opinions of Smallville from the same place however we do intersect a lot with our opinions and I don't find it surprising at all. I am the type of person if I read a good and well reasoned argument I occasionally will change my opinion or think about it from another point of view...some of your arguments have done this.
