Hey Everyone :)

Wow, its been a long time.  Sadly, I don't have much to say these days.  I guess all I had to talk about was Smallville, and I don't have that much more to say about that ( Read more... )

new fall shows, falling skies, summer, smallville

Its also quite a trip when you do watch randomly, and realize how many times the show retread the same ground over and over and over again.
That would be an interesting post - comparing the retreads & deciding which version did it best.

I'm sure Michael is keeping himself busy.
I'm rooting against the Zooey Deschanel show because then Fox will put Michael's show back on! And I want Tom to guest on Michael's show and get to show his funny side. MR's also filming a movie with Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper & Jason Bateman this summer.

I'm pretty much an up-through-S5 kind of gal. I love, LOVE the early seasons.
Tom is quite correct when he says that S1-5 and S6-10 are two different shows (and I definitely prefer the front half.)

Yay! I still have friends!! I was getting a little worried there. LOL

It would be interesting to see how many times SV did the same thing over and over again. Hmmm, I may have one more SV game in me yet.

Good for Michael! He always seems to find a way to keep busy. But can't Fox cancel some other show? The Zooey one looks cute :( Can Tom be on both?

I prefer the SV.V.1 as opposed to the SV.V.2

Go for it - it would be fun to see which plot was repeated most often.

The trouble is, Fox has barely any 1/2 hour time-slots - that's why MR's show, despite good ratings, is in limbo. There's no half hour vacancies. There's the animated shows on Sunday and the Zooey show is paired with (critically acclaimed) Raising Hope. One of these needs to fail for "Breaking In" to find a home.

I was worried that you didn't have any cat wisdom for me! (See last entry.)

My suggestion would be for Fox to get rid of Glee, since that show already jumped the shark.

Sorry, I missed your cat entry. I added my 2 cents, though I saw that you already got a lot of great advice.

I've been surprised to find myself pretty content to set Smallville aside for the moment. I'm sure I'll come back to it, and I have watched a dozen or so episodes here and there since the finale, but I'm much more focused on Tom now, fan-wise, and anticipating what he might do next. I'm glad he's taking some time for himself, and he more than deserves it, but like you, I'm fighting back a rising tide of panic as each day passes without news of a new project. Still, Tom himself recently pointed out in an interview how fleeting success in the entertainment industry can be, and he seems to thrive on being crazy busy, so I keep telling myself he must be actively pursuing work ( ... )

Its so hard to figure out what motivates Tom, and what he wants.

Quoted for truth. I realize it's part of his appeal for me, but does he have to be SO mysterious?

I figure the fact that he wants his domain name has to mean something, right?

I'm clinging to that thought as well, and checking the site at least once a week to see if anything has changed.

Falling Skies just seems to have no real heart to it, and yet its full of maudlin sentimentality that rings hollow.I think that's a very astute comment, and it's a flaw that keeps me from fully investing in the characters emotionally. But it's already been renewed for S2, so I say yes to bringing Tom aboard! If they do, I promise to watch every episode to catch up ( ... )

Well, if anything changes with the domain name, I'm sure you'll be one of the first to know! And you'll tell us!!

As strange as this may sound, I think all shows should have characters that turn you on in some way. And Falling Skies? Nobody! And thats boring. That was another problem I had with The Killing too.

I will probably go on the trip, or some other trip. I get twitchy if I don't get away every few months. If I had the budget, and the work schedule? I'd be traveling all the time. I love it.

I know what you mean about carrying over bad feelings you have about a character to the actor. Its why I don't think I'll be watching any Allison Mack stuff anytime soon.

My Summer Vacation.... chatchien July 21 2011, 16:41:11 UTC
I'm doing a lot of dog sitting and walking this summer---in 90 degree heat and on Cardiac Arrest Hills around my house. There are nothing but hills, and steep ones, around my house to walk the dog. Funny, the New Perspective that a dog will give one on one's neighborhood. And my butt hurts. It acts like it hasn't been exercised properly before.

I've got Breaking Bad to watch this summer. All the characters on it are going to hell. I wonder if Hell will be as hot as it currently is at my place.

I've got a piece on Lana from SV that I keep meaning to write up, but not yet, I guess.

I was pretty satisfied with all of SV except for Seasons 2 and 8. And in Season 6, Clark got fat and things meandered a bit. But SV was my Good Trash TV Show and I haven't found another one to take its place (SPN has gone to Hell and good riddance and may every hill in SPN hell have a 30 degree angle to it).

I thought that GoT might take over my Good Trash TV channel, but the show is just a little bit too Good to be Trash as is Breaking Bad. So instead ( ... )

Well, just think about how much your heart will be thanking you for the great cardiac workout you've been giving it.

Not to mention the good deed you're doing by doggie sitting.

Lana is a very complicated character. In retrospect, I have a lot more appreciation for her. But sometimes? She was a huge pain in the ass. But she was also in a lot of impossible situations.

I've seen Valley of the Dolls a bunch of times, the Susan Hayward/Patty Duke fight in the bathroom never gets old. They haven't done stuff like on TV since Joan Collins and Linda Evans rolled around in the mud with their giant shoulder pads.

I have been wanting to do a Smallville re-watch, but I've only watched 1 episode so far. This is partly because all my TV viewing time has been sucked up by all the new shows that I record on my DVR and then have to watch so I can delete them so I can record more. :-)

I don't have too much to say about SV either though. I only watched the final episode once. A lot of Season 10 episodes were like that for me.

I am sad that Comic-Con is going on without Smallville. I only discovered Comic-Con maybe 5 years ago, but all of the videos and interviews (especially the Tom ones) and pictures were always so exciting. Even though I like other shows that are going to be at CC, I'm not really that interested in stalking their panels.

I know that you are no longer a fan, but Glee is really the only show I have left that you could even slightly put in the obsessed category for me. It's kind of sad not to have a TV show that you MUST watch or you'll DIE.

I actually watch SV on my computer when I sit down at it at the end of the night. Its really the only time I have.

I haven't gone back and watched the final episode again either. I've rewatched parts of it, but not the whole thing.

Seeing whats on the schedule for this years Comic Con, I'm not so sorry I'm not there, because it doesn't compare to last years. And I can't figure out why the hell they moved Supernatural and Glee into Hall H, which isn't going to be nearly as much fun.

My love affair with Glee burned out quick. I guess thats what happens when you don't care for the anointed "stars" of the show.
