Time to Update the LJ

Hey Everyone :) So, its been forever, but really, I couldn't think of much to say.

So, lets see....

I spent a long weekend in Maryland with my sister visiting with latxcvi which was a lot of fun.  I did leave my credit card in a restaurant on the last night we were there, which is something I have never done in my life, but I realized it pretty quickly ( Read more... )

Very annoying about your tree.

I won't watch Ringer - the premise sounds too convoluted & daft. Will likely give Grimm a look, and the show that sounds like an adult version of Glee (Jack Davenport, Debra Messing)

I still miss Tom Welling something terrible, and I'm crazy angry with him for not having a job right now that will put his pretty face back on a big, or small, screen.
It would be nice to have at least a career update of some sort...and man, do I wish he'd at least consider doing a Con. Having watched the SV panel have such a fun time at DCon, made me think what an amazing panel Tom could give, with Michael, or on his own, whatever.

Your trip to Maryland sounds fun. I'm hoping to get a last bit of canoeing/hiking/biking in this weekend before the cold sets in.

Oh, and one of my cats dropped a claw sheath which just speared my foot & hurts like a mofo.

Ouch, sorry about your foot.

I love all the trees on my property, but one of the downsides it worrying about them during storms.

I think I'm going to skip Grimm, but I might give Smash a try. Thats the name of the other show you were talking about. There are 2 shows coming mid-season that I'll take a chance on, Missing (with Ashley Judd), and The Firm (with Josh Lucas). Maybe Alcatraz too.

As much as I'd love to see Tom at a Con, I just don't see that ever happening unless its Comic Con and he's promoting a new project.

The trip was great, but too short, which weekend trips tend to be. I'm going to Turks and Caicos for 4 days in October, so I'm hoping to get some rest and relaxation then. Of course, as soon as I come home, I have a friend visiting from Portland, OR, and of course she wants to go all over the city. *sigh*

Glad you made it through Irene safe and sound!

I have Ringer on my DVR and I haven't watched it yet, but they cast Jason Dohring, who I worship adore, so there's that going for the show. I too need a new show to fan and love! I'm hoping Vampire Diaries comes back strong this season as well. Damon. <3

As for myself, I'm slowly settling into my new career and plugging away at starting my novel. Slow going, in between kids and school online, but I'm trying!

*HUGS* Always nice to see you.

Well, safe and mostly sound anyway. LOL

I so admire your new career choice. Amazing! I've often thought of working with animals, but I'm not sure my heart could take it. How's your new dog working out?

And *BIG HUGS* back :)

The deal with the tree is annoying but at least it wasn't any worse than it was. It was awful sweet of you to offer to pay your neighbors for the hassle.

I watched Ringer the other night but I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet either. Something didn't feel right about it but I'll still give it a go for a few more weeks. Tonight I'm going to give Secret Circle a shot - hopefully it won't suck.

Sounds like you had a fun trip to Maryland - I'm planning on going to Rome in April with redteekal so I'm extremely excited about that one.

What are you other must-see shows of the fall? Curious minds want to know ...

It just seemed like the right thing to do, to have the tree taken away. Even my insurance agent was like "wow, you took care of it? It wasn't your responsibility ya know". But I had to be able to live with myself first and foremost.

I think of the things that surprised me about Ringer was that it looked sort of like it was on the cheap, and I wasn't expecting that. I know the Secret Circle isn't for me. I feel like I can't get into shows about teenagers right now.

Rome? Wow, sounds great. Post lots of pictures.

I don't really have any must see shows for fall. I'll watch Supernatural, of course. And I'm going to check out a few things. But really, I feel so underwhelmed by the new shows. And mostly thats due to the casting of a lot of these shows. The leads are so bland and generic to me.

Hi Val!

I'm sorry you had to deal with all of that annoying tree stuff. I'm glad that your house is okay.

I think it's cool that you went to a TV show taping. Back in 2001, I went to a taping of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" when Regis was doing it. That was pretty cool, but it's the only TV show I've ever gone to.

I haven't watched Ringer yet, but I plan to. I think a lot of people are at least going to start out watching it just because of SMG. I guess we'll find out if they decide to stick around.

I plan on watching "The Secret Circle." I hope it's good.

I also wish that Tom Welling would show up on TV or in a movie. Even a small guest-starring type thing. He should play a killer or rapist or something else against type on one of the CSI shows. I don't watch any of them, but I would if he was on it.

Thanks :) I'm glad that my house, and my neighbors house, is OK. The worst would've been for that tree to fall in a different direction, and slam right into a house.

This is the 2nd show I've seen. I saw a taping of David Letterman once, which was lots of fun. I think one of the things that disappointed me about the Anderson Cooper show was how much of it was staged. That was kind of disillusioning.

No more shows about teenagers for me. I just don't feel like I can relate to them anymore. I think Smallville was my last grasp at that age bracket.

I would love for Tom to show up on some TV shows. There's so much out there now. I'd love to see him show up on the Playboy Club, in period clothes, and reteamed with Cassidy. Or dressed as a pilot for Pan Am. But bottom line, I just want to SEE him again.
