Since I'm home sick, and not doing much of anytyhing, I thought I'd write up a TV Watching Update
2011 Emmy Awards
Why do the Emmys always make me cringe? I thought Jane Lynch was a decent host, but the musical numbers, the Jersey spoof, and the "Emmytones" (OMG, the worst!) were awful. Who gets paid to come up with this crap? And why is it even

Pointless and not even cute. I would've gladly taken one performance by them versus those bumpers.
I never saw FNL, but who can root against Kyle Chandler?
Same here. I've never watched an ep but I was a fan since "Hometown" and "Early Edition". He just seems like just an all around nice guy.
I was unhappy that Steve Carrell never was honored for his role on The Office,
I thought for sure he would get it because as much as the FNL wins were deserved, I felt they were more of a going away gift and I thought they'd do the same w/ Carrell.
Favorite dresses: Martha Plimpton, Sofia Vergara, Evan Rachel Wood, Lena Headey, Gretchen Mol, Nina Dobrev
ITA.
Least favorite dresses: Julianna Marguiles (and terrible hair too), Drew Barrymore, Zooey Deschanel, Gwyneth Paltrow
Again, I agree. Gwyneth deserves her own category because there was no excuse for how she looked.
I didn't watch it, and have no intention of watching it until Cassidy Freeman shows up. But from what I've hard, ( ... )

I have to admit, Eddie Cibrian is a big problem for me on The Playboy Club. I just don't like his smarmy ass.
Back when I watched Felicity, I was always Team Ben, and I prefer my Scotts with the last name Speedman.
Archer did get dark as the season went on. I'm with you in that I hope they lighten it up, and go heavy on the ridiculous.

I'm not much of a Jason Dohring fan, so thats not going to help me much. But, I'll take him over the impossibly bland Kristofer Pohlo-whatever. He just needs to go away.
I think one of the problems with SoA is that Jax isn't as much of a touch stone as he once was. At one time, you really felt like he had some sort of code and morality, and you wanted to see him gain control of the club and do something with it. But now, he's kind of lost that for me. His current actions are not at all sympathetic. And really, he can't walk away? Why? Are they trying to convince me that Clay would kill him if he tried? It doesn't even sound believable.
And thanks for the good wishes. Lots of coughing. I hate coughing.

I saw New Girl and enjoyed it. Miss Deschanel has some off-beat comic timing and she is very likeable---a sort of Mary Tyler Moore for the 21th century (or at least the first couple of decades of it). And one of her roommates was Damon Wayans' son? No wonder, I liked him so much. He has his daddy's charm and ease. And he is gone from the show? >8-(
I don't read about any of the new shows so I know nothing about them.
I did stumble on Homeland over at Showtime. I like Damien Lewis' underplaying and Claire Danes' was made to play an intelligent woman character---you can see her thinking and evaluating her moves. Moreena Baccarin and Mandy Potemkin (although he'll quit after the second season if the show stays on) are in it too. It appears to ( ... )

I meant to watch Homeland, but I didn't realize it premiered already. Well, thats what I get for not paying attention.
I'm not so much offended by The Playboy Club, but I think its utterly ridiculous to try and suggest that being a Playboy Bunny is somehow empowering for women in any way. Its not. Never was, never will be.

As for New Girl, I hated the show, but it wasn't just about Zooey. Her character is awful, but I did like her in Tin Man so I guess I'm one of those on the fence about her.

I just think I'm not cut out for sitcoms of any type.
