And the SNARK between Leia and Anakin

But don't you think they would just totally get along if they weren't on opposing sides with a lot of baggage between them as in canon? Or at least appreciate how similar they are?

Indeed they would!

Ohh, thank you for this. It's been a cold, dreary, snow-filled weekend here. And now it rains, so when it gets cold in a couple of hours, there will be ice everywhere.

But I have fic!

The noose is getting tighter. Vader is already feeling possessive and protective about Luke; making sure Anakin doesn't find out about him. I bet Vader can't hold out for five minutes before letting Luke know that they're father and son.

And how creepy and fun is the Anakin/Leia scene?

But maybe Bail strikes me as the most interesting. Seems he forgot why he took in Leia, and now has no intention of letting her risk her life. Though he's perfectly comfortable with Obi Wan or Luke doing it.

More soon, please?

Yeah, I envisioned Bail feeling similar to Owen: he doesn't want the Jedi taking his child into some unknown future. The difference with Bail is that he committed to helping Obi-Wan and Yoda and the Order, so he still feels the obligation. It's got to be sounding wacky to him right in the moment, though, the long ago suggestion that the two untrained children are supposed to take down the Sith. And he's been on the front lines forming the Alliance, while he's heard nothing from the Jedi in sixteen years.

And as for Luke, he's a nebulous concept to Bail, just as Leia was to Obi-Wan.

But they're all back in the thick of things now!

Great chapter!

>>Palpatine had told him women were an amusement, but also a test of focus
Well, Vader was always very focussed on Padme ;)

>>A feeling of warmth spread through his body, and he realized he would do almost anything to see her smile like that again.

The scene between the clone and Leia was absolutely charming. Please please please let them have an affair, not because I have an incest thang going; that aspect is rather squicky - but just to see Vader's reaction to it.

They do have some chemistry, don't they? Leia never lets things move too fast though!

I can't tell you how happy I was to see an update of this story.

*boucebouncebounce*

It just keeps getting better and better.

I was shocked Anakin didn't immediately put two and two together. But then again, he is young and sheltered and even the original Anakin was pretty bad about strategy (unless he did learn something from his former mentor and he's just stringing Vader along).

Vader seems to be being typically ... well ... Vader. After how betrayed he felt by Palpatine and after him telling Anakin what a manipulative bastard Palpatine was, here he goes, making the same damn mistake. Rather than coming clean with his clone, he shuts down emotionally and starts hiding things, then almost immediately arranges for Luke's transfer. Yep, this train wreck is going to be spectacular ( ... )

It would be bad enough if Obi-Wan and Bail knew, but I can only imagine the full body HUZZ Vader would have.

YES YES YES! Let the Anakin clone/Leia affair begin!

I sooooooooo want to see the implosion when all the identities are revealed!!!

If Leia turned out to be pregnant by the clone, so much the better!

I don't know that I'm really up for advocating incest. I think I'd be satisfied with innuendo and inappropriate emotional attractions.

;)

But I leave it all in jedinemo's capable hands.

Isn't that what Star Wars is all about? ;)

But seriously, the fear of that scenario happening by those in the position to know will motivate them to keep it from happening.

Hope you don't mind a stranger commenting (being new to the Star Wars LJ community, I seem to be saying that a lot of late), but I came across the first four parts of this fic recently and was pleased to see the latest update mentioned in Jedi News. And, well, I couldn't resist letting you know how much I'm enjoying this fic. You have a gift for well-written detail and for creating true suspense as I anxiously await the next turn of events (already!).

Oh, and call me a sucker for the 'Romance and Tragedy(tm)', but this part, in particular, really pulled at my heartstrings:

He closed his eyes and let the memories come forth. He remembered the smell of her hair, and the taste of her lips. The pride he felt when she came to him for comfort. The too brief moments of ordinary life that they had shared. It all might have been as from a dream, so foreign were the sensations now. But when he opened his eyes, the computer screen showed him proof that he really had lived that life ( ... )

Nope, don't mind at all. What writer isn't glad for a little more feedback :)

And since you're a fan of Romance and Tragedy, I would recommend indiefic's stories at sw-ouroboros. Her stories feature suitless Vaders, but all are engrossing and well done.

Yeah, I've actually started reading her stuff -- very very good.

Do you mind if I friend you? (I won't be upset if you don't, as I'm a stranger after all. Heh.)
