Oh yay an update! (I usually comment under my "luminations" journal but now that we're friends on this one, that would be silly - I'm happy I don't have to wait to see the link in JediNews! Hee!)

As usual, Anakin's words were full of passion, but not always clarity.
So spot on!

I love the friendship between Luke and Anakin. The lump-swallowing. Luke putting up with Anakin's peevishness.

And HAY THAR we're up to ANH now! (or you borrowed dialogue, at least! heh) One more chapter to go? Please post it soon, want to see how this all ties together!!!

Well, not quite ANH in time, but I guess close in events. And it might not all fit in one more chapter. Better write fast- hah!

Luke seems so much more mature than both his father and Anakin. But the friendships between Luke & Anakin and Obi Wan & Vader are both touching. If this ends next chapter with everyone dead, I'm going to cry.

I mean, I have the fear someone is going to have to die, but not everyone. Because I can't shake the feeling that Luke is going to feel like he has to be that pilot with the Force...

And I'm not sure any of them can go on without Luke.

I outlined the remaining scenes and they numbered somewhere around a dozen. So, no, I'm not taking the quick and easy path and killing everyone off.

But destiny demands its payment.

I love the Obi-Wan-Vader interaction. It's so true to them, with the hurt and the healing happening in the same words. The fact that they are brought together by concern for Anakin makes it even better.

Luke and Anakin are about to get into a lot of trouble. Even if they survive, Vader will kill them, then Obi-Wan will save them only to kill them himself. They'll be lucky to see sunlight for the next *decade*.

Yeah, the Vader-Obi-Wan scenes have been fun. There's something about being around someone who really understands you, and for the two of them, it's each other, no matter what has passed between them.

They'll be lucky to see sunlight for the next *decade*.

Hee!

Skywalkers just shouldn't be left to their own devices, let alone with each other!

As usual, Anakin's words were full of passion, but not always clarity.

LOL. Indeed.

"Oh, that's fine for you," Anakin said, pushing himself off the bed. "You're the beloved son. You'll always have a place."

Aww. *sniffle* And I love that Anakin v.2.0 is reverting to form. At least a bit. He was so grown up in the last few sections, it's nice to know he's still in there.

"At least you get assignments," Luke said. "Don't think it's any fun being the 'beloved son', either."

"Yeah?" Anakin said, stopping abruptly.

"Yeah," Luke said

Oh, the grass is always greener ...

"Nah. I'll show you this trick Obi-Wan taught me. Makes all your obstacles go away," Anakin said with a grin.

::headdesk:: Who thought teaching that boy that skill was a good idea ...

;)

"Well, don't get any ideas. She's mine."

And of course, the truth in that statement is both hysterical and horrifying.

He pushed the chime.

I absolutely loved the mirroring here from the previous scene.

Vader felt an unexpected twinge of sadness that Obi-Wan seemed so worn ( ... )

So glad you're enjoying it. Like many stories, it's developed into far more than I first imagined.

Obi-Wan's recreational abuse of Vader is lovely to behold

Yeah, Vader's so full of pomp and circumstance, somebody needs to yank his chain.

Damn that hurt. In a good, good way.

Yeah, Obi-Wan has certainly done his share of reflection, I'm sure. And he's even mature enough to admit his faults. Some one had to take the first step...

Vader should really keep a closer eye on the kids

I mean, really, would he have stayed put? ;)
