We moderns tend to think of Adams and other Founding Fathers as a bunch of old-tyme, powered wigged, wooden- toothed, folk heroes. We further imagine that they couldn’t *possibly* have envisioned the complexities of our modern world. But unlike today’s crop of pusillanimous politicians, the Founding Fathers were extremely bright, very well-read and could indeed think …. and think beyond the end of their noses at that!
